Erectile Dysfunction - Cure it With Pills
by: Conroy Dunham
Impotence is a problem experienced by millions and millions of men worldwide. Shocking! Isn’t it? More shocking is that this count goes up to 30 million in the United States alone. Erectile dysfunction is no respecter of age: men from the ages of 18 to 70 or older can be affected: though the common ages of the afflicted are ages 45 and up. Erectile dysfunction, also known, as impotence is the inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. Any kind of disorder that causes injury to the nerves or impairs blood flow in the penis has the potential to cause ED. Causes for impotence, or erectile dysfunction vary from man to man. In older men, this condition usually has a physical cause, such as an injury, disease, or side effects of certain drugs. There are many treatments of erectile dysfunction.
Many men experience this issue simply because of age or other physical issues: with the majority of men having felt the effects of impotence at one time or another by the time they reach the age of 45. Even if you've experienced erectile dysfunction at one point, this is not a solid indication that you will have issues with it in the near future or even later on in life. There are many problems that can cause impotence; from physical to psychological.
Physical causes: damage to nerves, arteries, smooth muscles, and fibrous tissues, often as a result of disease, is the most common cause of ED. Diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, chronic alcoholism, multiple sclerosis, atherosclerosis, vascular disease, and neurological disease account for about 70 percent of ED cases. Between 35 and 50 percent of men with diabetes experience ED. Also, surgery (especially radical prostate and bladder surgery for cancer) can injure nerves and arteries near the penis, causing ED. Injury to the penis, spinal cord, prostate, bladder, and pelvis can lead to ED by harming nerves, smooth muscles, arteries, and fibrous tissues of the corpora cavernosa. Lifestyles contribute to heart disease and vascular problems also raise the risk of erectile dysfunction. Smoking, being over weight, and avoiding exercise are possible causes of ED. Many common drugs such as blood pressure drugs, antihistamines, antidepressants, tranquilizers, appetite suppressants, and cimetidine (an ulcer drug) can produce ED as a side effect.
Experts believe that psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, guilt, depression, low self-esteem, and fear of sexual failure cause 10 to 20 percent of ED cases. Men with a physical cause for ED frequently experience the same sort of psychological reactions (stress, anxiety, guilt, and depression). Other possible causes are smoking, which affects blood flow in veins and arteries, and hormonal abnormalities, such as not enough testosterone.
A doctor treats ED by treating the causes of ED. There are lots of drugs and other medical methods of treating ED. Do not consider the subject a taboo; acknowledge the problem and seek a remedy with the help of your doctor-the faster you consult a doctor the faster the remedy would be. The first major break was the launch of the most publicized treatment was the introduction of the oral drug sildenafil citrate (generic viagra) in 1998. This was the first Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved pill to treat ED. Since that time, more such have been approved and introduced in the market. These are introduced only after they are tested for safety and effectiveness. This includes generic cialis and generic levitra.
Generic Viagra works at treating erectile dysfunction in the first place, by blocking two specific enzymes in the body, known as pde5 and pde6, which exist throughout the body, but in higher concentrations in the penis. The problem here: pde6 also plays an important role in the processes that make vision possible. Thus, blocking the enzyme causes complications with the vision of some generic viagra users. Like generic viagra, an estimated number of eighty percent of the people who have tried generic cialis have had the opportunity and chance in the mean time to have an erection as well as sexual acts but in comparison with generic viagra, the effects and potential of the user lasted for more than thirty six hours after taking the pill; in this period of time the effects were almost constant. A possible explanation for this is the fact that generic cialis persists longer in the body than generic viagra does. The period of time for blood levels to fall fifty percent for generic viagra records four hours, while generic cialis makes it up to seventeen hours. This can signify that a twenty five percent of the original doze of generic cialis is still in the body at that time. generic Levitra, like generic viagra, increases blood flow to the penis during arousal. As with generic viagra and generic cialis, generic levitra should not be used more than once a day, and is contraindicated for men who are taking nitrates or alpha-blockers.
Probably, male sexual enhancement pills are the most practicable solution for the treatment of impotence in men.
