  AUTHOR TUTORIAL:

Authors, you want to get the most out of every article. Prepare your Article and Author's Resource Box, so that Publishers can easily cut & paste into their web publications. This tutorial will tell you how to easily create an HTML file.

Preparing and Publishing your Article

  1. What types of articles are acceptable:
    • Do write articles that inform and educate. Share your experience and expertise.
    • Do write articles that address the specific needs that your customers may have.
    • Avoid articles that are nothing more than a sales letter. Publishers desire quality content and will simply not publish an article that is too sales oriented.

  2. Some important points about search engines:
    • Primarily, write your article for your readers. Use your normal writing style and don't worry too much about search engines. But the following tips may also help your article be found by search engines:
    • The title of the article is not only important to the reader, it's also important to search engines. Be sure to use "keywords" in your title that reflect your content.
    • Focus your content around one specific topic.
    • 500 - 1,000 words is perfectly sufficient to expand enough on a topic, but remain focused. It is also a good article length for readers and search engines alike.
    • Also, read Variables that Affect Ranks
